Areas We Serve in Denton County TX
Ten cities, one Board Certified Periodontist, one office at FM 407 and Village Parkway
Ten Cities, One Specialist Office, and What the Drive Involves
Village Periodontics and Implant Dentistry serves ten Denton County cities from one Highland Village office. Dr. Drew Moore is a Board Certified Periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He takes the periodontal and implant cases that general dentists refer out. Below you get the corridor from your city, the referral path, and what a first consultation covers. Every city links to its own page.
The office sits at the FM 407 and Village Parkway corner, the busiest intersection in town. Nine of the ten cities reach it on a single road without a transfer. That matters. You are planning a surgical appointment and a ride home, not a routine cleaning.

The Ten Cities This Office Serves
Ten cities sit inside the service area, and every one of them is in Denton County. Four are large: Highland Village, Flower Mound, Lewisville, and Denton. The other six are smaller towns strung west along FM 407 and north on I-35E. The list below runs by corridor rather than alphabetically, which is how patients drive.
Highland Village and the lake cities
- Highland Village, the home city, on the western arm of Lewisville Lake
- Lake Dallas, north along I-35E
West along FM 407, also called Justin Road
- Double Oak, the nearest neighbor west
- Copper Canyon, rural acreage north of FM 407
- Bartonville, further west on the same road
- Argyle, at the western end of the corridor
- Lantana, unincorporated, served by an Argyle mailing address
South on FM 2499
- Flower Mound, directly south, roughly eight minutes
- Lewisville, southeast on FM 2499 or I-35E
North on I-35E
- Denton, the county seat, about fifteen minutes
Lantana confuses people, and the confusion is worth naming. It is an unincorporated community, not a city with its own limits. It carries an Argyle mailing address, so search results split between the two names.
Three Roads Carry Almost Every Patient Here
Three roads do nearly all the work of getting patients here. FM 2499 is the spine, called Village Parkway here and Long Prairie Road below FM 407. FM 407 is Justin Road to locals, running east and west along the southern city limit. I-35E forms the eastern edge of both the city and the county’s population belt.
From | Route | Drive |
Flower Mound | FM 2499 north | About eight minutes |
Lewisville | FM 2499 or I-35E north | Minutes north |
Denton | I-35E south, then east on FM 407 | About fifteen minutes |
Double Oak, Copper Canyon | FM 407 east | Adjacent |
Bartonville, Argyle, Lantana | FM 407 east | Western corridor |
Lake Dallas | I-35E south | Northern lake shore |

Sedation changes the plan for some of these drives. If your appointment involves IV sedation you need a driver, and booking staff will say so. Patients coming from Argyle or Bartonville should build in extra time on FM 407 during school hours.
Referrals Are Welcome, Never Required
No referral is needed to book here. You can call and schedule a periodontal or implant consultation yourself. Most patients still arrive through their general dentist, because problems surface at a routine cleaning. Both routes reach the same chair.
Bring four things and the first visit does more. Recent x-rays, a medication list, your insurance card, and a written list of questions. Recent images matter most. A duplicate set costs money and adds radiation for no clinical gain at all.
If your dentist is referring you, ask their office to send images and notes ahead. A printout handed to you at the front desk helps far less. Records that arrive early let Dr. Moore review the case before you sit down. That turns a consultation into a diagnostic appointment, and it saves a visit.
Denton County Is Growing Faster Than It Is Aging
Denton County held 1,045,120 residents as of July 2024, up 15.3 percent since April 2020. That is one of the fastest growth rates of any large county in Texas. The county is young by national standards, which shapes what walks through the door here. Implant and gum work arrives earlier in life than the textbooks suggest.

Growth also means most patients here are new to the area. They arrive without a dentist, without records, and without a referral relationship. That is why this office takes direct bookings and why the dental implant questionnaire exists. It gives a newcomer a starting point before the first call.
Tooth Loss Is Falling Nationally, and the Work Has Shifted
Complete tooth loss among Americans 65 and older fell from 16.2 percent to 13.8 percent. That shift ran across eight years of federal survey data. The share of that group losing six or more teeth dropped from 39.6 to 33.0 percent. Fewer people need a full denture now. More people need a handful of teeth replaced well instead.
Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Chronic Disease Indicators, oral health, reviewed June 2024, drawing on 2020 BRFSS data.
The retention picture underneath those numbers reinforces it. Seniors aged 65 and older now keep 20.9 teeth on average, and 15.2 percent have none left. Smoking moves that number harder than age does. Current smokers in that group reach 29.4 percent with no teeth remaining. Never-smokers in the same age group sit at 11.9 percent.

That shift is why periodontal treatment now carries as much of the caseload as replacement does. Saving a tooth beats replacing it whenever the bone supports the attempt. When it does not, dental implants restore the bite without disturbing neighboring teeth. Results vary by case.
What a First Consultation at This Office Covers
The first appointment is diagnostic rather than surgical, and nothing is cut. Expect full periodontal charting, imaging where recent films are missing, and a medical history review. Dr. Moore explains what he sees on the screen while you are looking at it. You leave with a written treatment plan and a cost estimate.
Nothing is scheduled that day unless you ask for it. Coverage gets checked against the plan before you commit, and the desk runs it while you wait. Terms vary by plan. You can read more about Dr. Moore’s training and background on the meet the doctor page.
Veteran Owned, and a VA Community Care Provider
Village Periodontics and Implant Dentistry is United States Army veteran owned and operated. Dr. Moore is a veteran, and the practice serves as a community care provider through the VA. That includes veterans rated 100 percent disabled through the VA system.
Eligibility categories differ, so confirm yours before scheduling rather than afterward. The office also works with dental insurance and with CareCredit. Ask what your plan pays first. Getting that answer early prevents the surprise that derails treatment halfway through.
What Dr. Moore Treats, and What Stays With Your Dentist
Every service runs out of the one Highland Village office, and all ten cities are seen there. This is a specialist referral practice rather than a family dental home. Routine cleanings, fillings, and crowns stay with your general dentist. What comes here is the gum, bone, and tooth replacement work that needs surgical training.
- Dental implants, from a single tooth through a full arch
- Periodontal treatment for gum disease at every stage
- Bone grafting and sinus lifts to rebuild sites for implants
- Dentures, including partial, hybrid, and implant supported
- Tooth extractions, both simple and surgical
- Gum grafting, crown lengthening, and cosmetic gum contouring
- Snoring and sleep apnea care using the Vivos method
Referring dentists keep the restorative side of the case. Dr. Moore handles the surgery and hands the patient back afterward. That division is the point of a specialist practice, and it is why the referrals keep coming.
Get a Diagnosis Before You Get a Quote
Dr. Drew Moore is a Board Certified Periodontist and Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He takes the referrals general dentists send from across Denton County. More than 90 patient reviews average 4.9 stars. Verify his credentials through the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners at any time.
You do not need a referral to start. Call Village Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at 972-966-2500 to book a consultation. Or book online through the practice website. You leave with a diagnosis, a written plan, and a clear idea of what happens next.
Am I A Candidate For Dental Implants?
Not more qualified, differently trained. Specialist training guidance explains that periodontists complete three additional years of education beyond dental school. General dentists handle routine care and lighter gum cases well. They refer the harder cases onward, because the surgical training sits on the specialist side.
No published national fee schedule exists for anyone to quote from. Association research on the dental market notes that federal law bars the ADA from recommending fees. Its fee survey ended in 2023, so fees now vary by practice and by visit. Ask what the consultation covers and whether imaging is billed on top.
In part, though terms vary by plan. Federal coverage rules state that Medicare does not cover most dental services. A Medicare Advantage plan carries that benefit instead at 65. Private plans class periodontal surgery as a major service, with a deductible and an annual maximum. Ask the office for a predetermination in writing.
Periodontitis can be controlled, though the bone it destroys does not grow back on its own. Clinical guidance on gum infection describes damage to soft tissue and to the supporting bone. Treatment halts the process and stabilizes whatever attachment still remains around the tooth. Grafting can rebuild bone in carefully selected sites. Results vary by case.
Age alone rarely rules anyone out. Federal tooth loss data shows that seniors aged 65 and older keep 20.9 teeth on average. Bone volume matters far more than birthdays when the case is planned. Candidacy turns on bone height, on gum health, and on how well chronic conditions are controlled. An exam and a scan settle it.
